Our mission

We built what should have existed all along.

ThoughtfulHire wasn't created to make hiring slightly better. It was created because the interview process has been broken for decades — and the people it hurts most are the ones with the most to offer.

Roughly 1 in 5 U.S. adults lives with a mental health condition each year — and conventional interviews filter many of them out, not because they can't do the work, but because the process was never designed for how they think.
What we believe

The principles that guide everything we build.

Anxiety is not a hiring signal.

How someone performs under surprise pressure tells you nothing about how they'll perform in the role. The best interviews measure ability, not adrenaline. That's why we send questions in advance — every time, no exceptions.

Accommodations should be the architecture, not the afterthought.

Most platforms treat accessibility as a checkbox. We designed every screen, every workflow, and every interview format around real conditions — anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, autism — from the very first line of code. When the foundation is built for minds that work differently, everyone benefits.

Interviews should be conversations, not performances.

Panel interviews measure how well you perform in front of an audience. We eliminated them entirely. Every ThoughtfulHire interview is a calm, one-on-one conversation with a trained human who's there to understand you — not evaluate your composure.

Better hiring and fairer hiring are the same thing.

A 2023 meta-analysis of 30,000+ participants found structured interviews are the single best predictor of job performance — and they produce the lowest adverse impact on minority groups. The science is clear: when you remove bias from the process, you get better hires. Period.

Silence is cruelty. Feedback is respect.

Surveys consistently find that most candidates have been ghosted after an interview. That silence carries real psychological weight. On ThoughtfulHire, employers commit to meaningful feedback within five business days of every interview. No ghosting. No silence. You always know where you stand.

Access to fair hiring should never cost the candidate.

ThoughtfulHire is free for job seekers — always and forever. Not freemium. Not "free with limits." Every feature, every tool, every matched role. Our revenue comes entirely from employers. The people who need fair hiring most should never have to pay for it.

"ThoughtfulHire exists because I believe the people who think differently are often the people who think best — and they deserve a process that lets them prove it."
A letter from our founder

I didn't set out to build a hiring platform.

I set out to fix something that was broken. I'd watched too many talented people — people I knew personally, people I'd worked with — get filtered out of jobs they were perfect for. Not because they lacked the skills. Because the interview process wasn't designed for how their minds work.

I saw people with extraordinary abilities get rejected because they froze during a surprise question. I saw brilliant thinkers shut down in front of a five-person panel. I saw people spend days preparing for interviews and then never hear back — not even a no.

And I kept asking: why does it have to be this way? The research has known for decades that structured interviews are better. That advance preparation produces higher-quality answers. That one-on-one conversations reveal more than panel interrogations. No one had built it.

So we did. ThoughtfulHire is the platform I wish had existed for every person I watched get overlooked. It's built on six promises that aren't marketing — they're commitments, and every employer who uses ThoughtfulHire agrees to them in writing.

Our commitments

Six non-negotiable commitments that define who we are.

Transparency over surprise

Interview questions are sent 2–3 days in advance. Every candidate, every interview. This is mandatory and will never become optional.

Conversation over performance

All interviews are one-on-one. No panels, no group assessments, no audience. Calm, structured, human.

Inclusion by design

Built for minds that work differently from day one. Anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, autism, and more — designed in, not bolted on.

Empathy as a requirement

Every interviewer agrees to our interview standards and completes our empathy training. This isn't optional — it's a condition of using the platform.

Feedback over silence

Employers commit to meaningful feedback within five business days of every interview. Ghosting is a violation of our terms.

Access over profit

Free for job seekers, forever. No premium tiers, no hidden costs. Fair hiring should never cost the person who needs it most.

Join us in building a new standard.

Whether you're a job seeker who deserves better or an employer ready to hire smarter — this is where a new category of hiring begins.
